How good is the overall experience? Is it easy to buy/sell tokens, view funds, and see market movements?
The reason Coincheck gets such a low score for security is due to the breach that recently happened in January 2018 where $530 Million worth of NEM was stolen. The only reason Coincheck doesn’t get 1 start is due to the fact that it’s one of the largest crypto exchanges in Asia and they are doing everything it can to ensure your funds are safe.
There wasn’t very much information about fees that we could find. For the most part, fees appear to be decently low for Japanese users. According to Wikipedia, usually traders pay either a 0.15% fee (taker) or -0.05% (maker) to execute trades on Coincheck.
Coincheck sells a variety of about 13 coins. They are always looking to add more coins and will most likely be adding more in the future.
Ease of Use
Being one of the largest exchanges in Asia, Coincheck has a pretty intuitive and user-friendly interface. Coincheck also offers an app for both iOS and Android users. This makes it even easier to trade on the go and always have access to your funds.
Overall Coincheck is a great exchange. Being one of the largest exchanges in Asia means that many people trust them with their money. The only negative here is from the recent hack that happened in January 2018. But like all exchanges, they are all subject to a hack. If you’re in Asia Coincheck might be a great fit for you. Do more research as to what Coincheck has done to increase their security and make the call for yourself if it’s a good fit for you or not.
